Ahrar responds to Maliki's latest backflip on Iran
Monday, 02 November 2009 19:38
Today, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki asked the U.N. to stop neighboring countries from influencing Iraq.
Given Maliki’s close ties and previous praise for Iran, Ahrar Party leader Ayad Jamal Aldin released the following statement:
“How does Maliki have the gaul to call for an end to other countries’ meddling in Iraq , when he has been working hand-in-glove with the regime in Tehran for the past three years? If he was truly committed to free and fair elections in Iraq, he would not be playing to the diplomatic gallery, but following Ahrar’s lead in calling for the United Nations to replace his corrupt and incompetent Electoral Commission immediately.”
