Ibrahim Abdul Hassan

Sumariyoon.net Web site correspondent in Nasiriyah,

While presiding over a meeting of a number of Ahrar list candidates headed by Mr. Ayad Jamal Aldin, Lawyer Qahtan Hassan Saadoun al-Saidi a leader in the assembly said to Somariyoon.net "The meeting addressed a number of themes preparing for the upcoming parliamentary elections."

He noted, "The list includes secular liberal and academic figures, as well as Sheikhs and dignitaries and emphasizes the theme of assembly (secularism is the solution) in order to establish a democratic state founded on justice and equality basis for all Iraqis, where women have effective participation," referring also to "the role of youth as they are the essence of the new building process of the new Iraq."

And on Iran's recent aggression, Saidi said, "The violation on Fakkah oil fields by Iranian forces is because of the weakness of the government and their inability to demonstrate for aspirants in Iraq and its resources to defend its national rights. The deteriorating security performance of the government before the Parliament in the past week was encouraging aspirants to do their actions and that was the first one which is the violation and occupation of a source of national wealth by military power. The next will be the worst in case the government remain like that and now the reply came so quickly from the Iranians to show their ability to occupy Iraq and its oil wealth "

He added "In return, we ask the international community as long as Iraq is under Chapter Seven, we call on them for urgent action to stop Iran’s violations on oil resources of Iraq and remind the Iraqi government to demand the United States comply with the terms in activating the Iraqi-American Strategic Agreement ."
