Ruling Parties in Iraq are Controlled by Iran, Ayad Jamal Aldin tells As-Sharq al-Awsat

Leader of Ahrar list: Iran is running the

Parties ruling in Iraq by a remote control

Iraqi MP Ayad Jamal Aldin said to (Asharq Al-Awsat): Baath party could not eradicate Dawa Party for 35 years .. how can Al-Maliki eradicate Baathists?

London: Shatha al-Jibouri

The prominent Iraqi MP Ayad Jamal Aldin calls to hold a dialogue with Baathists specially those involved with shedding Iraqi people’s blood, he stressed that Tehran is running many parties ruling in Iraq by (remote control).

Upon his arrival to the British Capital London on a special visit, Jamal Aldin performed a dialogue to Asharq Al-Awsat, calling to force the Iraqi government and Baathists to hold a dialogue in order to end Iraqis bloodshed, he briefed the problem in Iraq that it is (authoritarian conflict between two teams, the first one got the power by the American tank, and the second (Baath) lost it again by an American tank, he explained that those who have the power are refusing to hold dialogue and national reconciliation, because the recent power was formed on basis of sectarian quotas, and there is no room for Baath on a table that has sect’s representatives sitting around it because Baath is a party not representing a sect, he added (Baath is a totalitarian, inclusive and dictatorial party, ruled Iraq for 35 years with iron and fire refuse to acknowledge others, therefore refuses dialogue and national reconciliation. Thus, both teams are refusing dialogue and reconciliation, the victim between all this is the Iraqi people).

Jamal Aldin one of prominent figures calling to adopt secular system in Iraq despite he is a prominent Shiite cleric, said: Baath is existing in all the state’s institutions since the ousts of Iraqi former regime, he emphasized (there is no problem with those who have their hands uncontaminated with Iraqi blood, but it is with those who did so).

When he was asked whether he is ready to open dialogue with Izzat Al-Douri, Vice President to the Former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, Jamal Aldin replied (I’m ready to open dialogue even with Satan to stop Iraqi people’s bloodshed), but he added (dialogue with Izzat Al-Douri does not mean to have him back to power, he has to open dialogue and we see what will happen).

Jamal Aldin said: (Baath party for 35 years with all its tyranny tried to eradicate Dawa party that has 300 members, but couldn’t do anything despite Saddam’s power, so how come Dawa party now wants to eradicate Baath party? Does Dawa party has now the power that Saddam has in ruling the country?). Islamic Dawa party is led by the Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.

On the Iraqi government’s relationship with the Arab world, Jamal Aldin said in a clear reference to al-Maliki (A person who knows himself that he is one of Iran’s men, how come he expects to be received by hugs by other countries).

Jamal Aldin attacked the parties ruling in Iraq and said (many parties who have power now are Iranian in ideology, direction, establishment, funding and belief, so why do you expect that any Arabic regime which has no good relations with Iran to receive you? The new Iraqi authority did not demonstrate its separation from Iran and this is what hampered Arabs to contain it), but he added saying (there are previous positions from Arab countries that have doubts in every Shiites, and they believe they are Iranian agents, but before blaming people we have to blame ourselves, can the Iraqi regime prove to itself and people that it is an independent regime, not loyal or move by Iran’s remote control? I think it is difficult to prove this). Jamal Aldin, leader of Ahrar party, that withdraw recently from the Iraqia list, led by the former Iraqi prime minister Ayad Allawi, said about reasons of his withdrawal (a serious deviation happened when the Iraqis list headed towards Iran, and this what raised my suspicion, but certainty, and we preferred to disengagement with Iraqia list in order not to hold political for such a serious deviation).

On Ahrar’s participation in the forthcoming election, he said that it his gathering includes (officers of former Iraqi army, academics, figures known locally not nationally, what distinguishes these people is that they are clean and not considered as Baathists). He is expecting that his list may get at least 35 seats in the next Iraqi parliament, and according to neutral foreign experts, he added (we are confident of winning, but we are not of making the change that we and all Iraqis hope to make).

On making coalitions with other political forces to go into the election scheduled for coming March, Jamal Aldin said (I won’t make any coalition before election, guide me to any political party not accused of stealing or killing, there is a question mark on all of them, I don’t want to pollute my reputation that I build with patience and suffer by giving my name which is 100% clean to unclean person, but after the election, electoral realities will impose on the situation).

It is likely that his gathering will be in the opposition side, he excluded its participation in the next government by saying (Ahrar won’t be a partner to thieves at all, but if a government formed on basis of fighting corruption according to scientific foundations, we will be soldiers in it). He denied his will to get a position in the next government, and called for fighting corruption and make reforms, he stressed that reform starts with amending the constitution and then performing census.

Jamal Aldin was not optimistic with the electoral lists participating in election, he emphasized that they didn’t leave behind sectarianism and that the only change that happened is that the Shiite list is split into two lists, first one led by Ammar Al-Hakim the leader of Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council, and the second one led by Al-Maliki, the same thing happened to the Sunni list which is split into two lists, first one representing Al-Tawafuq Front and the second includes Allawi and Tariq Al-Hashimi the Iraqi vice president, the same thing happened to Kurdistan coalition list which is split to two lists, the first one includes both Kurdish leaders Jalal Talabani and Massoud Barzani, and the second is the list of the Kurdish politician No Sherwan Mustafa.

Jamal Aldin ended his dialogue pointing out that he is unconvinced with his performance in the recent parliament by saying (the political equation requiring you not to be an influential person in a parliament stenographed by leaders of the political blocs). He added (leaders of the political blocs became like commanders of military contingents, in many parliamentarian blocs, MP cannot leave the room unless having the permit from the leader of the bloc, as for other MPs they are just like soldiers).
